The Japanese Society for Neurochemistry.
It is our great pleasure to announce that the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Neurochemistry will be held at Hotel Tenbo, Ikaho Hot Springs from June 21st to 24th, 2009. The organizing committee includes many active members from Gunma University who have made it possible to have a meeting in one of the most famous hot springs in Gunma. The meeting will be the first joint meeting between JSN and the Japanese Society for Neural Growth, Regeneration and Transplantation (GRT). An international symposium sponsored by the International Society for Neurochemistry will also take place during the meeting.
At the last meeting held in Toyama, new attempts to increase the proportion of oral presentation as well as to organize an educational seminar for young investigators and students have met with great success. The organizers of the 52nd meeting hope to carry on and further develop these attempts as major efforts of our society to enhance communication among our members and to foster the development of the next generation of investigators.
As one of the oldest societies in the field, our society has always provided opportunities for investigators in both basic and clinical medicine to meet and discuss in person, and to start collaborative research. The JSN-GRT joint meeting should further expand our collaborative efforts to new areas of research.
To develop new techniques in research as well as in clinical diagnosis and treatments, developments in further basic sciences such as cell biology, biophysics, and bio-organic chemistry are also necessary. It is the major purpose of the society to integrate the efforts of investigators from wide areas of research towards the goal of developing true translational research in the field of clinical neuroscience.
We sincerely hope the 52nd meeting held in a small resort town in Gunma will result in fruitful communications among members and guests of our society, and look forward to seeing you in Ikaho in June.
